you were/are most likely storing files on the SSD, to confirm run disk management
To view partitions and volumes on Windows Operating System (OS), Disk Management is the preferred tool, which helps to see if the drive is recognized and has one or more partitions. To do this, follow the steps below:
- Right Click on Start and go to Disk Management (Windows 10) or:
- Go to Run and type diskmgmt.msc and click OK (Windows 7, 8.1, and 10)
On the right side of the screen, two seperate windows will open. In the bottom window, a graphical representation of the partitions on the installed drives will be displayed. The top window is for viewing a drive's status, capacity, and file system. In the bottom window, the drives installed on the system will be presented, starting with the boot drive (Disk 0). In almost all cases, troubleshooting will take place with the bottom window. Here, users can see all drives, make sure it's online, and verify that it contains valid partitions.
to see/locate iphone photos:
All the photos that you see in the photos app are normally retrieved from the "pictures" folder by default. I suggest you to try checking in that folder and see if you are able to find the photos. Press Windows key + E > Click "pictures" on the left pane.
If it is not available in that particular folder, follow the steps below and check again.
1. Open the photo/photos you would like to locate, through the photos app.
2. Right click on the photo and select "file info".
3. On the left hand side of the window under "folder path", copy the folder path.
4. Press Windows key + R, paste the folder path in the run command and press enter.
The photo app doesn't hold the photos in folders of its own. Rather, it finds all of the photos in various folders throughout your PC and shows them within the photo app as though they were all in one location in the app. That's why your ability to access them seems so limited. Your photos should be available in their actual folder that can be accessed using file explorer. As was mentioned before you can open a photo in the photo app and then right click on it. You will then be able to see where the photo resides on your PC and you will have the option to open the folder it is in. So to restate it, The photo app simply sees all of your photos on your PC and retrieves them from their location and displays them. It only looks as though they are being stored by the app in a folder within the app.

I have 2 disks: One SSD (120 GB) where windows and programs etc. are stored and one big nomal disk (1 TB) where data are supposed to be stored. Stored on the SSD disk is: Program 34.5 GB, Program (x86) 16.7 GB , Windows 23.5 GB and User 2.8 GB and some small folders totally less than 1 GB. This gives a total around 80 GB which it has been until recently. When I tried to store pictures from an iPhone (10 GB) I got a warning : "Disk 1 is nearly full" and it was colored red. Properties showed that the disk had only 2.6 GB left. Maybe I was storing the pictures on disk 1 in stead of disk 2 (1TB). But I can not find them on disk 1, it shows only folders for a total of 80 GB. Why can I not see what is above 80 GB so I can delete it ?
