Hello, I have a question.

Is it just because of my psu? My unit is HP prodesk 600 g3 MT, core i7 6700, stock psu 250w.

I bought a used gigabyte gtx 1050ti 4gb low profile, successfully installed it and installed invidia app. I played for 10-20mins then shut it down since I had something to do, I came back after an hour or so, it didn't display. Now the gpu was first tested with furmark and techpowerup gpuz, it showed no artifacts whatsoever and the gpuz showed accurate information.

I just want clarification and I'm about to buy a p/n: 942332-001. Thank you.

Edit: GPU fan is still spinning and active but no display, not detected in device manager either, tried with another pc it worked and displays.

@Joshlou,

The stock 250-watt power supply should be sufficient to power your low-profile GTX 1050 Ti 4GB graphics card. These cards generally do not require a PCIe power cable and only have a 75-watt TDP.

Since you confirmed that the card works on another PC, I am inclined to believe that your stock 250-watt power supply may be defective.  The 400-watt power supply you are considering should resolve that issue.

Also, after removing from power and pushing your PC's power button for three seconds in order to release any residual power, try this: remove the card, inspect the card's copper PCIe contacts, and use compressed air ('canned air') to blow out the motherboard's PCIe x16 slot, and reseat the card.

Kind Regards,

@NonSequitur777,

Thank you so much for clarifying, is there any possibility that the 16x pcie is defective? Also I didn't touch the BIOS settings, is there bios setting I have to change?

My PC knowledge is second none, it would be great if you can guide and help me with this. Also I hope you don't mind my English.

Kind regards,

Joshlou

@Joshlou,

Yes, it is possible that your PCIe x16 slot could be defective. If you can test that by installing a different (low power) graphics card, that would tell us if there were a PCIe x16 issue.
