I need some help with this one please. I have a HP Oman 45L which had a i9 13000k running fine in it (Bios has been updated)..Since then I have fitted a i9 13000kS and a better AIO to go with it... I turned on the computer it powered on and of 3 times,  now there's 3 long beeps and 2 short beeps.. I took out the memory (DDR5) and installed the memory from my other HP computer (40L) which is DDR5 too and is working in the 40L,  but with that in the 45L the computer still beeps.. I know that the ram is fine,  motherboard too and the  i9 13000kS is brand new also.. What's going on,  is it really a none compatible Processor that's the problem..

The  i9 13000KS is the same as the i9 13000k just a slightly higher speed and wattage too (It's supposed  to run hotter), and both are Raptor Lake...

Hey maybe the Bios has it right I9-14900KS is the processor. You see I couldn't remember which one that I bought.. But it did cost a lot of$$$$... Even Windows says that it's a 14th GEN i9-14900KS.. i did remove the processor lid and fitted a copper  one (I bought  the complete kit to do it).. Looking at the old intel lid it is a i9-14900KS, it's now  confirmed this 14th gen processor does work in a HP 45L with the ArcticOC motherboard.....

@britlord,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Thank you for the detailed breakdown. You’re correct that both the i9-13900K and i9-13900KS are Raptor Lake processors and are nearly identical -except, of course, that the KS is higher-binned and draws more -potentially, a lot more power.

Since your system previously ran the 13900K fine, and your BIOS is already updated, you're right to suspect a compatibility nuance or power issue.

That said, based on your description and the 3 long / 2 short beep code, HP's diagnostics point to a memory-related failure:

3 long beeps and 2 short beeps = memory failure: HP BIOS Beep Code Reference

A few things to try:

  1. Re-seat your RAM firmly — sometimes it just takes one module being slightly out of alignment.

  2. Try one DIMM at a time in each slot, even if the RAM is known-good.

  3. Make sure the RAM voltage and timing are supported by the system with the KS chip, especially if it's high-speed DDR5.

  4. If the (AIO) CPU cooler was over-tightened or is pressing unevenly, it can stress the CPU socket pins and affect memory channels — double-check the CPU seating and inspect socket pins if needed.

  5. Try resetting CMOS (pull the battery or use the jumper) in case settings didn’t transfer cleanly when swapping CPUs.

Lastly, whilst the i9-13900KS should be compatible in your OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop GT22-1xxx, it’s worth checking with HP Support or documentation to confirm full validation for that SKU -OEM motherboards may be more sensitive to power profiles or VRM demands.

Let us know what you find -and best of luck!

Kind Regards,

Phew!!.. I was able to get the 13900KS working. I swapped out the Motherboard and put in my other board from my other computer a HP 40L. They both use ArcticOC boards, so now the processor is working fine even with a 2024 Bios (I have since upgraded it).. However, the BIOS sees the processor as a i9 14900KS but it's got the clock speed right 3.2GHz LOL.. I even removed the HP AIO and fitted in a Thermalright Frozen Warfame 360 one, and the Display on to of the pumps LCD shows that the temp of the processor is only 28C (Not sure if that's correct).. I don't hear any of the AIO cooling fans running but they are so it's not hot inside the computer case.. If anyone want's to install a I9 13900KS I recommend the Thermalright Frozen Warfame 360 instead of usingthe HP AIO..

Oh I think that the other motherboard is working, so I'll install it back in mu 40L and use the i9 13900K processor....

@britlord,

That is outstanding news -thank you for sharing!

Just one more thing.. I had to uninstall the Frozen Warframe program that shows the temp and GPU in the pumps LCD display because it bloody locks up windows 11... You can tell it's gonna happen because the Mouse and keyboard Leds turn off first (Both stop working).....
