HP ENVY Desktop - TE01-0034
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just replaced the power supply in my pc with a stronger power supply to accommodate a more powerful video card.  I purchased the recommended and  compatible power supply, so that shouldn't be an issue.   When I power up the unit the power light, fan and cpu fan pulsate.  That's it.

Thanks. I figured out what was happening. It was actually the battery backup that was faulty.  Sometimes you need to step back and rethink your problem.  It was working a week ago when I disconnected it to move to our new house, so I ASSumed it wasn't the problem. It was.

Thanks for the help, though.

Hi,

Maybe you have a faulty new power supply if connections are correct. Try the new power supply with the factory graphics.

You should disable Secure boot and enable Legacy mode in the BIOS (Link to instructions) before you replace the card. Also uninstall the factory graphics drivers before you install the new graphics card.

Check this YouTube demo (Link) on upgrading the PSU and graphics card in a TG01 system. The TE01 chassis, MB, and power supply are similar.

Regards
