Correct RAM to use when upgrading my PC (HP Pavilion 590-p0049 Desktop Rfrbd PC)

Hi all, 

I was looking to add 8GB of RAM to my PC. I've been researching compatible types and correct specs and I want to be sure the product I found will work correctly with my machine. I'm fairly certain that this is an appropriate product for my needs. Any help or direction is greatly appreciated!!

@legoman8304 , welcome to the forum.

The first thing that you should do is use CPU-Z to find the manufacturer and timings of the current memory: https://download.cnet.com/CPU-Z/3000-2086_4-10050423.html

Once you have this information, you should contact Crucial's Tech Support for help with determining if your current memory will be compatible with their memory.  Different manufacturers' memory doesn't always play nice together.

It is the twelfth item on the page.  However, this simply means that it is compatible with the motherboard; NOT that it will compatible with the current memory.

It would be better if you would buy the HyperX memory in matching pairs.  The motherboard has Dual-Channel Memory Architecture: https://www.crucial.com/articles/about-memory/what-is-dual-channel-memory

Installing memory in other than matching pairs doesn't allow for the best memory performance.

I know this is a lot of information, but it is necessary to assure that you buy the correct memory.
