cd and dvd support is part of the operating system in windows 10 there are no drivers required for reading or writing ISO images to write file by file to the optical media requires a 3rd party program like nero/power2go

 

Firmware is held in non-volatile memory devices such as ROM, EPROM, or flash memory. Changing the firmware of a device may rarely or never be done during its lifetime

 

your  "firmware" is code that is stored on the optical drive it is not something that is stored in the windows OS
