I recently acquired an HP Pavilion desktop, model #TP01-2137c. This unit did not come with a DVD writer installed (I was aware of this at the time of purchase). I have been trying to find which model DVD writer is compatible with this desktop model and have come up empty-handed. Does anyone have information and/or the part number I would need to acquire so that I could install an internal drive? I realize I always have the option of purchasing an external drive; however, I was hoping to go the internal route if possible (and not ridiculously priced of course).
Thanks in advance.

Hi:
Here is the link to the parts list for a TP01-2xxx PC that came with an optical drive.
Before buying any parts, I recommend you check to see what parts you will need to install.
I don't think it is as easy as just finding the optical drive.
Gone are the days where you knock out a blank in the front bezel, mount the drive and connect the power and data cables to it.
You may need the power and data cables, the bezel and whatnot, and where you can find the parts you need, that I do not know.
The optical drive itself seems to be inexpensive, doing a search by the part number on eBay.
HP sells the drive for $78+
