HP All-in-One - 22-b020na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A DVD has dropped off its spindle and is now lost inside the body of the all-in-one.  It appears to be a sealed unit and I can see the DVD but it is impossible to grab or shake out.

@Zella3,

You can either use long handled surgical hemostats to reach  in the chasis or open it.

If you going to try the hemostats, cover it jaws with tape to protect the media.

Others have had success with unplugging  all cable, open the tray, and shake it at an angle.

Service manual. After all the preliminary removal of screws, you gently pry it open.

PS<> This happens a lot. The trick is to snap the disc into the prongs that hold the disc.

            You will hear it snap/click into place.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..

YouTube to the rescue.

At about 60 seconds, he removes the back-panel, and you can see the optical drive attached to the inside of that panel.

If you are "lucky", the CD/DVD media will be "loose", like a slice of ham between two pieces of bread.

If not, then a bit more "disassembly" of the optical drive will be needed -- you won't need to do any disassembly of the components of the motherboard.
