I have a Pavillion 595-p0084 desktop with a nearly fill SSD for the C drive. I found in another conversation where a Samsung 980 SSD 1TB PCle 3.0x4, NVMe M.2 2280 drive can be installed as a replacement.
How do I transfer the C drive data to the new SSD? Are there two ports on the motherboard to do this?

If you want to clone the 128 GB SSD drive's contents using the free Samsung Magician software, you will have to purchase a USB 3/USB-C to NVMe SSD enclosure.
You install the new SSD in the enclosure and clone the existing drive's contents to the new drive.
Something like this:

Its just needed to install the existing drive's contents to the new drive.
Then you remove the drive from the PC, remove the cloned drive from the enclosure.
Install the cloned drive in the PC, button it back up, turn it on and you should be all set.
If you plan on buying a Samsung drive, the free Samsung Magician software (which does more than just clone Samsung drives) can be downloaded from the link below.
Samsung Magician Software Download | Samsung Semiconductor Global
If later you want to use the 128 GB SSD in the enclosure to store files on and whatnot (like a portable drive), that would be fine rather than just using the enclosure for a one-time operation.
If you ever need to use it again, you can remove the 128 GB SSD and clone another drive with it.

I have the recommended SSD for the upgrade and the enclosure to mirror the C drive. My HP Pavilion desktop 595-p0084 does not see the new hard drive in order to format. The Samsung Magician sees the drive but I cannot format it. Here's the screenshot.

You might have to initialize the drive since it is new and unformatted.
You want the partition scheme to be GPT

Thanks, Paul. I went through the process and the new SSD drive is now formatted.
But now I try to mirror the C drive using Data Migration to this new SSD and I get this error message: "This drive is not supported".
Do I now use Windows for a copy and paste to mirror the C drive to the new SSD?
