Hi!

 

I broke my charger years ago, and still can't find a compatible charger with the correct power and all. 

Do you know where I could buy a new charger for this laptop, or an universal charger that could fit with it? Also, is there a way to know what kind of charger to look for? I don't know if charging ports have a name or something.

Hi:

 

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook:

Chapter 3 has the list of supported power adapters.

 

Your notebook needs the first one listed on page 30:

 

65-W, for use in HP Notebook PC and HP 255 G5 Notebook PC models   HP part # 710412-001

 

What I suggest you do is to go on eBay, do a search by the HP power adapter part number and find a used but tested and working genuine HP power adapter.  Those normally come with the power cord that goes from the wall socket to the adapter.
