The computer came with two different brands of memory sticks. One is a Samsung and the other is a Micron. They have some different timing table values. Is it normal for HP to assemble computers with different brands? I have read you should only have the same brands and values of memory.

normal users are recomended to use the same memory brand/model number as the existing because they do not understand how to read a dimm module and decipher the cryptic codes that describe the module
HP has no such problems, so if the memory came from or was recomended by HP for your system then it's fine
when installing memory, the timimgs of the dimm module (like 15-15-15-34) refer to the speed of the chips used on the module and the system will run at the speed of the slowest module timings
