Does the mouse (wired or wireless) require drivers?

Hi:

Wired USB would not require separate drivers.

Wireless would require additional hardware, but probably not need drivers.

Some wireless 'mice' use a USB dongle that only works with that mouse.

No drivers are usually required for that.

Some wireless 'mice' use the notebook's Bluetooth adapter to connect, and those wouldn't need drivers.

Bluetooth mice would require the PC to have a Bluetooth adapter.

Thanks Paul,  I ordered a wireless mouse with a dongle that would plug into a USB port.  so it can communicate with the computer. I had tried a couple a few years ago but didn't like them - slow response.  Maybe they have improved over the years. This is for my HP laptop Pavilion g7 - I really don't like the touch pad, it drives me crazy.

Thanks Paul - hope your getting along okay through this time our country is going through.

You're very welcome, Larry.

So far, so good with my family and me.

I hope the same to be for you and yours.

Paul
