Does my computer have TPM?

Hi All, I have an Envy Phoenix with an i74790, 24GB DDR3, etc. I cannot find out anywhere if this PC has TPM on it.  Does anyone know?

My 13 year old dc7800p has the TPM chip in it.

I can't imagine that your machine would not have a TPM chip.

Your chip which may be referred to in your BIOS as EMBEDDED SECURITY DEVICE needs to be enabled in the BIOS.

Then in device manager, removing INFINEON TRUSTED PLATFORM MODULE and then doing a hardware scan may allow your TPM chip to be visible to Windows 10 using the TPM.MSC command.

the official version of windows 11 at the time of writing this answer has not yet been released, unless I'm mistaken!
Don't rush, any new version has these problems, wait at least a little bit before you start
Check everywhere if there are problems after installation or not!
For tpm 2.0, there are many sites that are starting to talk about it.

for TPM 2.0 to be activated with bios uefi, if it is possible

look at the bottom, where the TPM version is shown. If we see version 2.0, our computer should be compatible with Windows 11 in this section.

You can easily tell if your PC has a TPM by going to the device manager.

If there is a Security Devices category in the device manager, click to expand that and there you will find the TPM.

If your PC does not have a Security Devices category in the device manager, then it does not have a TPM.

It is not unusual for older HP consumer class notebooks and desktop PCs not to have a TPM.

The dc7800 is a business class desktop, which is why it has a TPM.

On my Pro 6300 MT, TPM was not listed in device manager under Security Devices, it was listed under System Devices but still not listed by command TPM.MSC.

After I removed the TPM device from device manager and did a hardware re-scan, it appeared in device manager under Security Devices and also with TPM.MSC.

Alll of mine (dc7800, Elite 8000, Elite 8200, 6200 Pro, Optiplex 7020, and Optiplex 7050) are all under the Security devices category, and were never anyplace else.

Only the Optiplex 7050 has a TPM 2.0 chip.
