OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC GT22-0000a (4E978AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop GT22-0266z Bundle PC (33T57AA) and i am currently running out of space on my SSD, and I would like to upgrade. I am not sure if the motherboard has another SSD slot however, and which type of SSD it takes. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

@Nafiz00,

Yes: go to timestamp 07:29 in this HP instructional YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSYYmhJryD8&ab_channel=HPSupport, and at timestamp 8:48 you can see the second, greenish-colored M.2 NVMe SSD which is actually installed in this PC.

@Nafiz00,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Your OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC GT22-0000a (4E978AV) as fitted with the HanaAOC motherboard (SSID: 8949), has four SATA data ports, labelled HDD1 through HDD4, and two M.2 NVMe SSD slots, labelled SSD1 which is situated closest to your CPU socket, and should be used as your primary (boot) drive, and SSD2 -likely obscured by your graphics card.

If you are interested in speed, and you don't have a second M.2 NVMe SSD installed, I would go for a second M.2 NVMe Gen 3.0 x4 SSD. If (slower) storage is OK, you have four SATA data ports which you can use for SATA SSDs, and/or mechanical HDDs.

Thank you for the information. In that case, would i have to take out the graphics card in order to install it? Is there a video out there that I can see the process to do so?

@Nafiz00,

Assuming your second M.2 NVMe SSD slot is empty, another question might be: what to purchase?

I would choose a quality yet affordable M.2 NVMe SSD, such as:

1TB Crucial P3 Plus ($62): https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-Plus-PCIe-NAND-5000MB/dp/B0B25NXWC7/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1TGH8E29CWOWO&dib...

1TB Silicon Power A60 ($58): https://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-NVMe-Gen3x4-SP001TBP34A60M28/dp/B07ZGJVTZK/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3M12...

1TB Samsung 990 EVO ($70): https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Internal-Computer-MZ-V9E1T0B-AM/dp/B0CRCC9863/ref=sr_1_13?crid=3M12GO...
