Hi all. As stated above I have a Elite 8300 CMT that has been upgraded to Win10 (long story).
But, I have ran into a problem.
The first question that I have is why are there two network adapters listed in device manager? The first is a Realtex PCI Gbe Family controller and the second is a Intel 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection. This has me a little confused as to why there would be two listed in the same tower computer.
But the bigger problem is I have no internet access.
I have been having no luck finding a driver for the Intel controller in Win10. Is there a compatible driver available?
Or I am stuck buying a network card for this box?
Thanks in advance for any answers,
Jim

is there a PCI-e network card installed? or perhaps a USB based network adapter?
Microsoft has win 10 82579LM drivers, download and extract using winzip/winRar and then manually install the driver using the have disk option
https://catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=82579LM
i have attached the driver file in zipped format to this post
Upgrading drivers for a pre-existing device
- Open the Windows Device Manager.
- In the Device Manager, locate the device you want to update.
- Right-click the device and select Properties.
- In the Properties window, click the Driver tab.
- Click the Update Driver button.
- In the Hardware Update Wizard, point Windows to the location of the updated driver files on your hard drive.
Once drivers are installed, reboot the computer.
Install a driver using a .inf file
Finally, if the recommendations above don't work, you can locate the installation instructions for drivers and hardware devices in its .inf file.
- Locate the .inf file for your version of Windows.
- Right-click that file and choose Install from the drop-down menu.
- Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
- Restart the computer.
