I have a simple yet perhaps somewhat foolish question. I currently have a Samsung 860 SSD (boot/OS drive), a 1TB HDD (data/backup drive) as well as a DVD burner (not functional) internally in my ProDesk 600 G1, all powered by the stock 240w power supply. I also have an old external WD Elements 2TB USB drive that is almost full.
The internal 1TB HDD is also old (probably the original OS drive) and sounds like a coffee maker when it's being accessed. SMART doesn't flag it (so far) but I would like to replace it fairly soon with an internal 4TB HDD and at some point in the not too distant future remove the 1 TB as well as the Elements USB drive (keeping that as a spare). The computer is a refurb I bought from Newegg in March 2021.
So my rather foolish question is: Will the 240w PS be able to power all listed components without being overwhelmed, at least temporarily? My computer usage is fairly modest, no gaming, video/music editing or rocket/space shuttle designing etc.

There are no foolish questions, only questions that haven't been asked.
In my opinion, you should be fine. You haven't installed a demanding GPU -I assume you (still) have a standard low-wattage AMD Radeon HD 7650A or perhaps a GT 630 card installed. It looks like your 4th gen Intel processor, such as the i5-4670, is the main wattage hogger: 84 watt TDP.
Kind Regards,
