Pavillion 27 all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Fan is always on even with nothing running. Nothing in task manager suggests anything untowards. Bios is F21 but there appears to be F25 and F30 available. When I try to install either it says the current version is newer which I can't understand. Although it's not really loud I still notice it and it becoming irritating. Many thanks for reading.

@jb127,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the fan is always on.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and update the BIOS on the computer and check whether the issue is resolved.

If you continue facing the issue, then boot to BIOS by tapping the F10 key and look for the option “Fan Always on” and disable it.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thanks but it's the same result. My Bios recently updated itself to F23. This NOT available on the HP website. Fan is still always on.

Thanks. I forgot to mention the 'Fan always on' option do not appear in this Bios. All I have is a 'Thermal' option which when clicked just show the fan speed but nothing else.

Thanks,  the bios is updated as much as the system will allow me. The fan is still on.

@jb127 If none of that helped, I'm afraid you may want to contact HP as advised earlier and discuss your options,

I hope this guides you, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,

Thank you. I've just been told by customer support that it is normal on this model and that the model needs constant cooling. I can't quite believe that a company would put out such a product. Very disappointing. It's two months old by the way.
