Hello! I would like to upgrade gpu  HP 705 G5 SFF with Ryzen 3400g to Yeston RTX 3050 6GB GDDR6 low profile single slot. Will it work? My PSU is 180W. This card has 70W TDP and CPU 65W. I only has one m2 ssd storage. Will I have to upgrade bios or something or just plug and play?

@milosz95,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

It seems unlikely that your 180-watt power supply can handle the overall wattage load...

Unfortunately, I couldn't locate a power supply upgrade for your desktop a year ago, and that hasn't changed: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/upgrade-EliteDesk-705-G5-Small-....

Thanks for the reply. I decided to order Pny t400 4gb card with 30 tdp. It will be low upgrade in performance, but better this than nothing.

@milosz95,

That is a great graphics card option given your wattage restrictions!

I would like to suggest one GPU option that I believe would work with your 180-watt power supply, the Dell AMD Radeon RX 6500 4GB GDDR6, which has a 40-watt TDP:

And compares very favorably with the T400:

Here is an eBay-US purchase link to show you what this card looks like: https://www.ebay.com/itm/235876160679.

Take a look at this YouTube review video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmXsJdm3eq0&t=313s&ab_channel=ITGGear.

Thanks for help. In the end I installed Radeon Pro WX4100 for 75 dollars. I was looking for the upgrade cause multitabling on ggpoker above 6 tables was laggy as f... In this matter this upgrade is great for me, now this app is working perfectly. But I ran test in furmark and i think upgradeing for gaming is questionable. In the 15 min card reached 93 degrees celcius, but system is stable. Anyway thanks again for help, you can close this topic.

BTW. Specifiacation says that this card has 50w, but I saw some servertest and in load this card consumes only 35W
