Some excellent points have been made.
1) Verify BIOS settings
2) WIn 10 ? You still keep the same WIN 7 BIOS.
3) New mobo... the installed OEM WIN version becomes non-activated. Permanently !!

Hi,
Check each of the PCI-e auxiliary power connectors with a volt-ohm-meter to ensure that the GTX 660 is getting power from all of the correct pins.
Another possibility is that the PCIe x16 slot is damaged. Check the slot pins with a magnifying glass and a flashlight.
It might very well be that the GTX 660TI is DOA (very rare to buy a new GTX 660TI) or the GPU firmware was modified for UEFI only.

If you still can't get the GTX 660 working then it's time to move on and close down this thread.

Thanks Big_Dave. Turns out the gtx 660ti was doa. I feel so silly having done some much. I put it in another pc system and it gave two beeps which I looked to find was a video error. I went out and bought an i7 870 and a r9 280x and everything works very nicely and it all cost me less than 150 aud.
