Hello,
I have an HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2170m CTO that currently has a GTX 1660 Super (6 GB GDDR6 dedicated) graphics card installed but I'm looking to upgrade the graphics card for better gaming performance.
Any recommendations of a better graphics card that would be compatible with my system would be much appreciated. I've tried researching, but just not sure the best route to take...
I appreciate any assistance and suggestions. These are the specs for the computer:
- HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2170m CTO
- 21C1 Cycle AV
- NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1660 Super (6 GB GDDR6 dedicated)
- 1TB SSD storage
- No HDD
- HP black wired keyboard with volume control and wired optical mouse kit
- BU RCTO UMA PAV GAM TG01-2 B550A US
- McAfee Livesafe (30 day)
- 32 GB DDR4-3200 SDRAM (2 x 16 GB)
- Realtek Canary ac 2x2 +Bluetooth 5 M.2 2230 PCI-e+USB WW with 2 Antennas
- No Additional Office Software
- Shadow black front bezel, Acid Green Chrome logo with 400W Power supply
- Windows 11 Pro 64
- OSLOC US
- AMD Ryzen™ 5 5600G (3.9 GHz up to 4.4 GHz , 16 MB L3 cache, 6 cores)
Thank you in advance!

Hi
see @old_geekster 's KB here
Upgrade Video Card - HP Support Community - 7481981
the problem is mainly in the power supply
It is generally installed a power supply box of sufficient power for the original configuration
So if you change the graphics card, you have to check the manufacturer's requirements, and probably replace the power supply
Small problem, it is often a question of a specific power supply box, and upgrades are limited
see this
Power Supply Cross Reference for specific models
the documents here do not identify the motherboard, and the power supply in place
but you have this
https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/pdp/hp-pavilion-gaming-desktop-tg01-2170m-pc-3v2z3av-1
it will be necessary to identify the motherboard, but as more recent, it may not be in the kb
you certainly have a similar model, so you have many examples here
if it is the same motherboard, you have this model for example
HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2960nd PC Product Specifications
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3060 Ti (8 GB GDDR6 dedicated)
Power Supply Type | 500 W AC power supply |

Thank you, it's nice
If you ever find your happiness, then share it if you want, it could help other users
think carefully before doing anything, find out about the different graphics cards, read the comparisons
and above all check the current cooling level, if you have no heating problem, with a more powerful card, it may be amplified!
so little space in the case avoid graphics cards that are too big
