Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

AIO R0xx does not let me look at your PC. So, I don't know your PC's specs.

You probably also have a platter HDD.

Well, you have to move data to the platter HDD or buy a SSD that is bigger than the 128GB SSD currently installed to fix this problem.

Thanks for the reply. I agree with your diagnosis But posts on the forum indI ate that a larger SSD cannot be installed and it is difficult to know what can be “transferred” to the large HDD.

Can someone give me a difinitive answer regarding the upgrade path as rhetoric would be my preference.

regards to all

Hi Dinnafouterdf,

You're very welcome.

I can't say what size SSD you can add to your PC without knowing the product number. I am not sure if you have a M.2 NVME SSD now. Generally when you see a 128GB SSD it is usually a M.2 NVME drive. HP installs the operating system on this fast boot drive. HP then provides a platter HDD for data storage.

Some HP AIO PCs can handle a 2280 type NVME drive. This means you might be able to go to a 1TB drive.

What data to move to the slower HDD depends on how you use your PC. Large program installations are tricky to split across two drives.

Large data files can be easily moved from the small SSD to the larger HDD.

You might be able recover a couple of GB's of free space by running Windows 10 Storage Sense to clean up previously downloaded W10 updates from Microsoft.

Storage Sense is found by navigating to: Settings, System, Storage, Storage Sense (Free up space now).

Regards

@Grzwacz,

Notice no where is this inquiry is the exact model number so the internal specs could be researched?

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..

@dinnafouter

While you're trying to decide how big a new SSD to get, read through these hints to see if these reduce the space used enough to get you by, for now...

Here are some things you can do to recover some of the disk space:

Also, the community Win10 Forums has the following suggestions:

In addition, I have found the utility Cleanmgr+ to have LOTS of options for removing Windows junk, including log files. I use it practically every day. You can get it from here: https://www.getclone.app/download/category/11-cleanmgr
