Hello can someone help me please.
I must point out that it came with windows 11 pre installed on the turbo drive, and the dvd drive was not present, do I need to go into the bios to activate the dvd drive.
I recently purchased a HP Z 640 fitted with turbo drive.
so I recently fitted Dvd optical drive also HDD fitted in bay marked 1 so can use as extra storage
these recent fitted extra items, are not recognised.
I have connected the SATA cables to the white SATA connectors on the bottom of the motherboard would this be correct? As I am still learning about these great machines please bear with as I am I later years of life

Since you do not mention making a power connection, both of those devices require a connection to the power supply. The hard drive would need SATA data connection and a power connection that looks like this.
Depending on the DVD drive type (post the make and model number of the DVD drive)but it needs a power connection, too.
I'm not an HP employee.
