HP 260 DM G4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After upgrade BIOS from official site PC don't boot - BIOS recover file is corrupted, insert BIOS recovery flash drive.

Ok. But sp114039.exe won't open on 3 other's computers - just unpack and after dissappear. 4-1 tool don't have that BIOS. And I can't find binary.

@SandmanBrest -- download the file, and double-click on it, to "expand" it.

By default, it will create 3 files in the folder: c:\SWSetup\SP114039

and then prompt you to "continue" or "exit".

Choose "exit".

Open the above folder.

Double-click on the ".exe" file.

I do it many times. I double click on HPWINGUI.exe after that this program ask me for admin rights, I click "Yes" and... nothing. Totaly nothing. And sane story on 3 different laptops. and 2 virtual mashines.

HP Recommended

@SandmanBrest -- click with the second (usually the right-side) mouse-button on that ".exe" file, and choose "Run As Administrator".  Give it a few seconds to display a window.

Do it many times: after that program receive admin privilege any dialog windows - absolutely nothing.

HP Recommended

@SandmanBrest -- you can run that EXE file (in the folder with 3 files) only on an HP computer.

Also, it is likely that the EXE file checks that the embedded BIOS Update file is compatible with your motherboard.  It may silently "exit" if you have the wrong update.

But HP computer, which need that BIOS, wont start. I need recovery flash drive for that computer. So I must run that program on another computer - my on HP laptop. And I can't create BIOS recovery flash drive.

May be HP thinking, that I must buy 2 identical PC? And in case that one of then need BIOS recovery flash-drive I can create that flash-drive on another PC?

HP Recommended

@SandmanBrest -- I have downloaded the HP update on a non-HP computer, and it "unpacks" some files into the  C:\SwSetup folder.

Running the EXE file in that folder allows me to create a "recovery USB". Then, move the USB memory-stick to the HP computer.

But for me it not work, unfortunately. I'm able to run that tool on HP EliteBook 830, able to run on self assembled with Asus motherboard, able to run on 3 different VM on HyperV.

@itsmyname Can you, please, create image from that flash drive by rufus tool and share for me? It will help me, really.
