Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am looking to replace the hard drive in my 27-r114 desktop computer.  Are there instructions on how to remove the case and get to the drive?  I tried to do the quarter turn on the 2 screws at the bottom, but the middle of the case did not budge.  Also, what specifications of drive do I need to get?  TIA!

@KcubSamoht , welcome back to the forum.

Here is the Upgrading and Servicing Guide for the computer:  http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05640595

On Pages 10 thru 12 it shows the steps to remove and replace the hard drive (HDD).  I believe that you have to take the stand off before you can remove the back of the computer.  Here are the components to your computer on HP PartSurfer:  http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=3LA05AA

If you look at the section titled "Drive", it shows the Part number and specifications of the hard drive.  You can actually order the new drive from HP.

I would like to make a suggestion that you consider installing a standard SSD or M.2, SSD, for the boot drive.  Here are the SSD's that are recommended by Crucial Memory:  https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/pavilion-27-r114-all-in-one

Crucial makes very good products for computers like yours.  You will have to scroll down towards the bottom of the page to see the 14 SSD upgrades.  You could actually replace the HDD with one of the standard SSD's, also.  If you have questions about the SSD's you can contact Crucial's Tech Support for help.  They have always been extremely helpful when I have contacted them.
