Hello, after latest firmware update (SP95909.exe) myHP280 G1 has bricked.
With usb firmware restore i press start button + B or even start button + V and after 8beep i can't see anything. Inside the usb key there is not the old firmware; only the new firmware DOR_8029.bin is present.
Could you give me the previous compiled firmware to try to restore bios?
Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem with one of my HP 280 G1 MT's. I have two, but different variants: M3X31EA (i5-4590s CPU) and K8K38EA (i3-4160 CPU). For both the HP Support site gives exactly the same latest BIOS, version 80.29 A softpack sp95909.exe.
For the M3X31EA one, the update went flawlessly.
For the K8K38EA, the update seemed to work fine at first. The softpack prepared the update and restarted the computer, BIOS was written and verified OK. But once it restarted (automatically) after the verification, it beeped a few times and then remained powered but otherwise dead: black screen, no response to Ctrl+Alt+Del, no nothing. Tried booting a live Linux DVD, no go. Most of the time it doesn't even beep. Followed the procedure to clear CMOS, did not help either, although it sometimes beeps 8 times (this time I could count them). Win+B or Win+V didn't help. Tried also a recovery USB stick created by the BIOS update softpack both for 80.29 A and older 80.14 A, but it doesn't boot - the stick's led flashes but for too short a time to be a boot. Also the USB optical mouse's led lights but only a short time, maybe 5-10 seconds, it doesn't remain lit. I am sure the downloaded softpack file is not damaged because its digital signature verifies. Now, what can I do?
EDIT: fixed a typo in the softpack number.

At the moment, I have the same problem that you describe. I downloaded a correct package released by HP and after a correct flash my pc is no longer usable. I think someone in HP should give us support or send us a new motherboard.

@Gridtty, and others facing the problem: I think it will help to specify exactly the HP part# of the computer, and eventually the configuration. The HP 280 G1 was sold with various CPUs, video solutions, etc, and as you see from my post some are bricked while others are not. Il will help at least other users to know if to avoid the update for their PC.

Hi,
I would contact HP Support if you are in warranty.
It would be very difficult to substantiate the BIOS update (SP95909.exe) was the proximate cause of a "bricked" PC. I have seen this scenario when using HP Support Assistant BIOS updates. But this is very unusual when applying manual BIOS updates.
Will try to get you some help (no guarantees) because this a a tough situation if you are out of warranty.
Regards
