Good morning everyone, I bought an HP Elite Tower 600 g9 i7 with 400W power supply. I need to install a more powerful video card such as the GTX 4080 but the original HP power supply is not powerful enough. Can I replace the original power supply?
I'm looking for either an adapter so I can add 750W, or is there an alternative PSU from HP?
Failing 750W what is the highest I can get?

Welcome to our HP community forum!
Well, failing a 750-watt power supply, there may be a compatible 550-watt power supply (p/n: M86264-001) for your HP Elite Tower 600 G9, as it is compatible with the HP Elite Tower 800 G9: Solved: HP Elite Tower 800 g9 - PSU upgrade to 500W - HP Support Community - 9004390.
The reason why I think this 550-watt power supply is compatible for your 600 G9, is that your 400-watt power supply (N03175-001) is also compatible with the 800 G9, such as this example: HP PartSurfer -ergo.
The 550-watt power supply is in stock via HP-United Kingdom:
Or via an eBay-UK Seller: HP M86264-001 SKO-PSU 550W ENT22 EPA92 5x12V | eBay.
With a 550-watt power supply, you can power a smaller-sized (two fan) RTX 4070 model, powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable, such as this model: ASUS DUAL RTX 4070 EVO Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database.
Hope this was helpful.
Kind Regards,

Sorry -possibly due to a brainfart, but what do you mean with "a 16pin card"?

Also, would this work?
Sorry for the lame questions.

The ATX power adapter you referenced only works on the ProDesk 600 G1, not the G9.
And I would avoid graphics cards requiring a 16-pin PCIe power cable for your PC. With the 550-watt power supply I mentioned, you can power a smaller-sized (two fan) RTX 4070 powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable, such as this model: ASUS DUAL RTX 4070 EVO OC Specs | TechPowerUp GPU Database.
