Hi @keyboardenjoyer

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand the difficulty you’re facing with your HP 975 Dual-Mode Wireless Keyboard duplicating input and sometimes not responding to certain keys. We’ll work together to identify whether this is a hardware fault or a configuration problem so you can get back to smooth typing." I would request you to please follow the steps:

HP has identified that duplicated or automatic typing on the HP 975 Dual-Mode Wireless Keyboard can be caused by a high-frequency signal device nearby, such as a USB 3.0 device.

STEP-by-STEP Fix

  1. Move nearby USB 3.0 devices: Unplug the device from the current USB 3.0 port.
  2. Reconnect it to a different USB 3.0 port that is farther away from the keyboard and its wireless dongle.
  3. Update the keyboard firmware: Install HP Accessory Center from the Microsoft Store.
  4. Use HP Accessory Center to update the keyboard firmware to version 1.04.0 or later.
  5. Test the keyboard again after moving the USB device and completing the firmware update.

Note: HP states this issue affects HP 970/975 keyboards on certain firmware versions, including 1.03.6 and 1.03.9.
