I'm stumped too.
I still believe it is the size and rotational speed of the drive that hinders performance.
I have a smaller 240 GB SSD in one of my 8200 Elite CMT's running W10 Pro with i7-2600, 32 GB of memory, and I cannot justify buying a new PC, because this thing flies.

Thanks Paul,
Now looking at the benchmarks on that drive... you might be absolutely correct. Man I feel stupid....never thought of that until you mentioned it. lol!
Thank you so much for your time and expertise! I learned something new today. I'm actually running faster than most with that drive. I might have had a 7200 in there before... will have to upgrade again.

Anytime.
Glad to have been of assistance.
When I bought one of mine new in 2011, it came standard with a Seagate 1 TB 7,200 RPM SATA III hard drive.
The other 8200 Elite, I bought on eBay several years later.
No doubt yours came with a SATA III 7,200 RPM drive.
The only thing that I don't like about the 8200 Elite series is that there are no USB 3 ports, and I have to say those are nice when you do backups with a USB 3 portable hard drive plugged into a USB 3 port.
