HP Compaq Pro 6300 Microtower
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

As you can see from the title, I have a Compaq Pro 6300 MT. I was looking to upgrade the system from 8gb of DDR3 that was already in the computer, as some things on my PC were failing to launch due to memory issues.

I bought this ram which was listed as compatible with this MB.

Here is the manual for the 6300 MT.

However, after getting the RAM and going to put it in my PC, there was already two sticks in there of 8gb. It was in dimm4 and dimm2 (which in my computer, are color coded as grey/white). I was confused as to why it was only using one, I figured the other must've just been loose as that is a common problem apparently. However, no matter in which combination I put the two new slots of ram together, the PC would beep 5 times and then the fans would start blowing as if they were about to explode. As of now, I got the PC to boot with only 1x8gb in dimm4. I believe dimm4 is in channel A according to my devices manual. (I should also mention the DDR3 that was in my PC before was DDR3L). I now have 2 sticks of DDR3L and one left of the G.Skill I bought. After trying to troubleshoot for a few hours, I think it might be due to me running the incorrect format for 16gb duel channel which is 8gb in dimm4, and 4gb in the rest. I know crucial makes compatible RAM for the 6300s, but they're way out of stock.

TL;DR: RAM swap caused my PC to beep 5 times then start blowing the fans very loud. I believe for the 6300s I will need the right RAM type and sizes/format in my PC to get 16gb of DDR3 which would be 8/4/4/4 (https://support.hp.com/ie-en/document/c03382665).

Sorry if this has been asked before, I am just unsure if I should return the RAM I bought or if it would work with G.skill 4gb or another manufacturer? If anyone can help that would be amazing!!

I should also add, the 2 sticks of DDR3L that were in the computer originally did not work either on boot, even with how they were in before. I have yet to try only 1x8gb of the DDR3L in my dimm4 but it didn't seem worth it since the G.skill is already working properly in that slot.
