HP Desktop M01-F3019

How many hard drives can I connect to this computer - it says

  • One PCI Express Gen 3.0 x16
  • One PCI Express Gen 3.0 x1
  • Two M.2 expansion slots
    • One M.2 socket 1, Key A (type 2230)
    • One M.2 socket 3, Key M, (type 2280/2242)

And it comes with one   ssd - so can I add another SSD

Sure. Basically you can add three additional drives. One 2.5" SATA3 SSD and up to two M.2 SSD drives on the a PCIe adapter.

One of the M.2 slots (Key M) is already in use and the other one (Key A) is for a WIFI card.

You can purchase and use a  PCIe M.2 adapter that plugs into the unused PCIe slot.

The new M.2 SSDs will plug into the adapter and work just as if they were plugged into a slot on the motherboard.

You could also add a 2.5" SATA SSD to plug into an unused port on the motherboard. You will need a SATA cable and screws for a 2.5" SSD to connect it to the cage that is available in the desktop enclosure. (see the video)
