Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

I would like to upgrade to the i7-1200k cpu so I can utilize quick sync. Is this PC and motherboard comparable with the 1200k?  
If not can I upgrade the motherboard? I have had issues understanding the comparability charts and seem to of found conflicting info.

Hi

 

Your MB, Processor upgrade information, https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c08132262 is limited to 65 watt TDP CPUs.

 

You can install a 65 watt 12700 CPU which supports Quick Sync.

 

You would have to change the case and the power supply if you change the MB to a retail part like Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, or Asrock.

 

I don't know if HP offers a compatible MB in this product line that would support a 12700k. The Omen product line support "k" CPUs.
