Hi,

My PC was bought with 32Gb installed but when I check in various places it only seems to have 16Gb available.

Any ideas?

This seems quite common with upgrades but mine was a fresh purchase direct from HP.

Appreciate any help.

What you are seeing is pretty normal.

You can open the Task manager  with Ctrl+Alt+Del and click on the Startup App section.

Take a look to see what is being loaded that you feel that you do not need loaded at startup.

Right-click on what you believe that is unnecessary and select disable.

On the next startup you should see more memory available.

Hi Erico,

Thanks for your reply.

What I don't understand is that this PC is only running the same stuff my old PC had on it and that only had 8Gb of physical memory.  How can the same stuff now be taking up 16Gb

I've done what you suggested and it made a marginal difference but something is still eating loads of memory.
