Operating System: Linux

I have a game emulator that uses the function keys.   However, my HP keyboard somehow already has control of my function keys to do things like mute, turn volume up, turn volume down, etc...

 

How do I get to my function keys to use the emulator?

I figured it out - I have to hold down the Fn key then press a function key....

 

I can't believe it took me this many years to figure that out!
