hello so i have an HP OMEN Gaming PC Model:875-0084 and it comes with 16gb ddr4 2666mhz ram. the motherboard only supports up to 2666mhz. I want to upgrade my ram from 16gb to 32gb but I want to keep the same 2666mhz speed. I am worried that if I buy aftermarket ram the speed will not be the same since I have no control over the speed in BIOS. is there any 32gb ram that I can get that will run at 2666mhz in my system?

@1wyse,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop PC - 875-0084 (4NN70AA) as fitted with an Edoras motherboard (SSID: 84FD), can be fitted with up to 2 x 32GB of DDR4 PC4-21300, 2666 MHz, Non-ECC, Unbuffered, DIMM, 288-pin RAM sticks.

I would purchase a matching (same brand, model and capacity) 2 x 16GB 3200 MHz RAM kit, such as seen here: https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp-compaq/omen-obelisk-875-0084, or Samsung equivalent: M378A2K43CB1-CTD 2x16GB (2666 MHz) or: M378A2G43AB3-CWE 2x16GB (3200 MHz).

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,

this is what my motherboard supports, will the ram you linked still be compatible at 32gb 2666mhz ?

I just need 32gb of ram running at 2666mhz. I have no access to changing ram speed so it must run at 2666mhz by default

@1wyse,

Yes. I refer back to my previous post.

@1wyse,

3200 MHz RAM will default aka down throttle to 2666 MHz by your system without RAM performance loss.
