HP Pavilion 25xi Menu Button not Illuminating

Pavilion 25xi
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Pavilion 25xi is cannot be discovered by my laptop through the HDMI cable.  I read that it may be because it is not the selected output on the menu,  but when I tap the area of the screen where the menu button should be (bottom right, next to the power button).  The menu button does not illuminate for me to select it.

I tried holding the power button for 30 seconds and I tried unplugging, holding the power button for 1 minute, and replugging.  The power button stays illuminated and no matter how much I tap it or hold it, it will not turn off.  It appears the whole bottom of the screen is locked out.  Thank you for your help!

HP Pavilion 25xi Menu Button not Illuminating

@chrisiaj Greetings from the HP Community

Is the monitor turned on? If yes, to clarify, is there no display on the screen?

Is the menu button physically broken or stuck?

If its not physically stuck, please hold the menu button for 30 seconds to unlock the OSD, once done, restart the monitor and check if it works,

HP Pavilion 25xi Menu Button not Illuminating

Thank you for the response!

The power light on the front is illuminated but there is nothing displayed on the screen.  Fully black.  If I touch the power button, it does not go off.  There is no physical menu button.  I am supposed to touch the area the menu button is located, to the left of the power button (I call them buttons but it is just a flat touch sensitive surface) and nothing illuminates like it is supposed to.  It seems like the touch surface is frozen, if that makes sense.  Any thoughts?

Darn.  Tried that already and holding it for 10 seconds does not reset it.  It just stays lit and non-responsive.  I also turned it off for 1 minute while holding the power button to totally reset it and it didn't work.  Any other tricks?  It might just be broken which sucks.

@chrisiaj I'm afraid you're right about this being a hardware malfunction and I suggest you talk to HP support and discuss your options, follow the below steps to get started:

1) Click on this link - http://www.hp.com/contacthp/

2) Click on Sign-in or select the product using the below step:

3) Enter the serial of your device.

4) Select the country from the drop-down.

5) Click on "Show Options".

Fill the web-form, to populate a case number and phone number for yourself!

Also, if you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty, if yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from,
