HP Pavilion 550-254na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently purchased 2 sticks of dual 8gb Corsair Vengeance Pro Series RAM, but when I installed them into my motherboard and tried to boot the PC it didn't and began beeping at me. I couldn't work out the pattern of beeps and wasn't able to enter my BIOS either. When buying the RAM I checked that my motherboard supported 16GB of DDR3 Ram at 1600hz (which is what the new Corsair RAM is) Is my RAM compatible and will I need to buy new RAM... Please Help!!!

@Matty_N,

That is why it failed.  Same specifications do not make it work.  Components are made to specific computer models. Here is the Crucial page, and look for the numbers, example  "CT2K102464BD160B"  if your going to search the Amazon.  PS<> Corsair Vengeance Pro Series RAM is not compatible with your unit.

@Matty_N,

RAM modules are specific to a computer.  How did you pick these?

Did you go to Corsair site and input your computer model?

I went to https://www.mrmemory.co.uk/memory-ram-upgrades/hp/pavilion-desktop/550-254na  to find an upgrade and looked at the specifications of the recommended RAM, I had also heard that Corsair RAM was very good value so found the COrsair RAM with the same specifications and bought the Corsair RAM from Amazon. I was under the assumption that most RAM was universal as there was no documentation on the Amazon page (or on the box) that said/says that this RAM is computer specific.
