HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop 690-0076a Hard drive error.

I ran a systems test as my PC was running a bit slow. The Long drive self test came up failed.

Failure details - Hard drive check:

The test found a problem with your hard drive and it may need to be replaced. If possible, back up your personal files to a flash drive or external hard drive as soon as you can.

How do I check my hard drive to see if it can be repaired? I think it is my SS Drive as its the one that has windows on it.

Everything seems to be working, Just sometimes programs freeze and don't respond.

Spewing as it's only 18 months old.

this must be mentioned in the test
The hard drive cannot be repaired, if it is hs, it needs to be replaced
In some cases we can just work around the problem
A simple re installation if it is the system disk, or a complete formatting if the hdd data
but this may only be temporary, you may have to replace it later

Hi,

I cannot see anywhere in the test which drive it is testing.

It still comes up as failed but everything is working as it should be.

I have a backup so we'll see if it goes at some point.
