I have a PC that has been making a loud noise. I'm not sure what it is. We seem to get by blowing the dust-out. My warranty has expired but I'd like to get a new fan for it. How do I go about doing this then?

Hi @J22K02,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Pavilion Gaming - TG01-1160xt CTO desktop might have a faulty or worn-out fan. Here are steps to diagnose and replace it if needed:
Step 1: Identify the Noisy Fan
- Power on the PC and listen closely to identify which fan is making the noise. Desktop PCs often have multiple fans (e.g., CPU, GPU, power supply, and case fans).
- Check the air vents on the case to ensure they aren’t blocked with dust, which could cause overheating and loud fan noise.
Step 2: Check for Dust and Clean the Fan
- Shut down and unplug your PC.
- Open the side panel to access the internal components. Carefully use a can of compressed air to clean any dust buildup around the fans and vents.
- Power it on again to see if the cleaning has helped reduce noise.
Step 3: Replace the Fan (if necessary)
- Identify the fan type (CPU, GPU, case) that needs replacement.
- Order a compatible replacement fan. Make sure to get the correct size and connector type (e.g., 3-pin or 4-pin).
- Carefully disconnect the old fan, remove it, and install the new fan by following HP’s service manual for your model or general replacement guidelines.
Refer to this document: HP Pavilion Gaming - TG01-1160xt CTO User manual
HP Desktop PCs - Fan is noisy and spins constantly (Windows 11, Windows 10)
HP Desktop PCs - Reduce heat inside the computer to prevent overheating
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
