Welcome to HP Support Forum. Is it the following machine ?
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00581384
This is a 12 years old machine which has the following motherboard:
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c00590366
which supports
- Socket: 479
- Supports the following processors:
- Pentium M (Mobile)
- Celeron M (Mobile)
Sorry I don't know where to find a shop which sells thos CPU's. Please try
https://www.ebay.com/b/Socket-479-Computer-Processors/164/bn_635128
I would not upgrade hardware of any machine older than 5 years.
Regards.
