Welcome to our HP community forum!
The three best i7-Core processor upgrades that I would recommend (from least expensive to most expensive) for your HP ProDesk 600 G1 DM (SSID: Hewlett-Packard 21D0) with eBay purchase options are:
i7-4765T (4-Cores, 8-Threads, 2.00 GHz up to 3.00 GHz, TDP: 35-watt)

i7-4770T (4-Cores, 8-Threads, 2.50 GHz up to 3.70 GHz, TDP: 45-watt)

i7-4790T (4-Cores, 8-Threads, 2.70 GHz up to 3.90 GHz, TDP: 45-watt)

Thanks for the speedy reply. Is a i5 ok to use? I found one for 14.00 I am going to be working from home and not editing videos or gaming...
I have a Macbook pro that needs repair and picked up this HP mini desktop for 50.00 and dont want to invest a lot into it. I'm running 16gn of ram now and trying not to break the bank.
I appreciate you and your time..

Yes, of course, an i5-Core processor would be OK to use, as long as you choose a "T" version, such as the i5-4460T, i5-4570T, i5-4590T, i5-4670T, i5-4765T.

An i5-3470 has a whopping 77-watt TDP (Total Design Power), and that would not work on a Desktop Mini (DM), which is restricted to 35/45-watt "T" processors.

In addition, an i5-3470 has an LGA 1155 socket, whereas your DM has an LGA 1150 socket, meaning, an i5-3470 is not compatible at all with your DM.
