My HP SimpleSave 320GB HDD shows as a full size drive in File Explorer plus a 1MB CD drive.

The virtual CD is only an annoyance and distraction but I have been unable to remove it despite much searching. Is there a utility to do this?

Tried the WD solution which should hide the VCD but though it is a WD drive in the enclosure it did was recognised as such.

As it is just an annoyance and not a deal breaker I will live with it, thanks for the help.

The Model No is hp sd320a. There are no error messages and it seems to work well. The issue is the virtual CD with HP Launcher.exe on it which appears in File Explore and is annoying. I have tried diskpart-clear and format but no joy. If HP has a utility to clear it that would be ideal, there is no data to lose at the moment.

Take a read of the article at the link. It is a Western Digital issue.
