Product: HP Ultra Slim Docking Station

I have a strange problem which with Excel and my docking station.  When I open Excel sheets whilst my laptop is on my docking station, data in colum headers is not visible, only in the formula bar.  If I close the spreadsheet down and take the laptop off of the docking station, re-open the spreadhseet, the data and colum headers show perfectly.  This is only happening for me, when my colleages open the sheets they have no issues on or off of the docking station.  I can't see how the docking station can make a difference to an excel sheet, can anyone help please?

Might not be of much help but when you plug it into the docking station, what is connected to the station? Is there an external monitor? If so, what is resolution is it set at? I have found that when I connect a external display sometimes the resolution changes will change any settings I had in any open programs.
