Hello,

 I;m think about upgrading my Z840 mother board with the same architecture on the new board so it fix in my case. Please let me know if this is possible. I like to have a updated cpu to Intel Xeon, Something similar to 2X Intel Xeon Platinum 8160 2.4GHz (48-Cores / 96-Threads. Any recommendation is appreciated.

the z840 workstation uses a model specific case/motherboard/power supply which are unique to that specific model

as such neither the case motherboard or power supply can be used in other cases

The HP Z840 supports dual Intel Xeon E5-2600v3 and E5-2600v4 series processors

 and does not support any other series cpu's

hp only lists a small number of cpu models that they validated for this model in actually it will support just about every v3 / v4 e5-2600 series cpu made

Not to be a nitpicker, but there are also four Intel Core Broadwell-E processors (i7-6800K, i7-6850K, i7-6900K and the i7-6950X) which are also compatible with the HP Z840 Workstation platform, like this Z840 user shows: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/50060921.
