Hello, i recently purchased the HP 8200 elite CMT - (i5, 500gb, 4gb ec.) for the purpose of upgrading the graphics card. So i can play some new games for a reasonable price. However this is my first time and i am not sure exactly which ones will work and/or are compatible
So far my searches have led me to the GTX 750 - (http://www.nvidia.co.uk/gtx-700-graphics-cards/gtx-750/)
I was just wondering if this is compatible with the PC and i will be able to install it easy.

Hi:
You should be able to use that card in your PC.
The specs call for a 300W power supply and your PC has a 320W power supply.
https://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-750/specifications
I also have an 8200 Elite CMT and I have the GT 730 in mine, and it works just fine.
Given that fact, I would imagine the 750 would also work just fine too.
Looking at the illustration you posted, it appears the card will cover the adjacent slot on the motherboard.

The ones I see for sale look like this...they will take up two spaces.

You're very welcome.
The only other things I can share with you regarding installing your video card are these...
1. There are two identical looking slots on the motherboard that look like you can install a graphics card in--a black one, and a white one.
While you can install a video card in the white PCI express slot, that slot is an x4 slot, not an x16 slot like the black one.
So, you should install your new graphics card in the black PCIe x16 slot.
2. Before you install your new video card, it is advisable to uninstall the Intel graphics adapter and driver in the device manager.
To do that, you go to the device manager, click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category, right click on the Intel graphics adapter, select Uninstall. Also check the uninstall driver box.
Do not restart the PC. Instead, shut it down, unplug it, press the power button to drain any residual electricity in the motherboard, and install your new video card.

Hello again, since our last conversation there have been some updates and changes of parts. I just wanted to know if this graphics card (GTX 750 TI - http://www.nvidia.co.uk/gtx-700-graphics-cards/gtx-750ti/) would still fit inside my computer. It is a bit of an upgrade from the normal gtx 750.
Also if it does could you explain me how to install succesfully, for example if it requires bios updates etc. because being a noob i dont know exactly how to do this. Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi:
It should fit, but I suggest you get the dimensions from the card and measure the inside where it goes to make sure it is not going to interfere with anything inside the case.
You should only need to do what I have already posted regarding installation.

HP elite 8200 Convertable Minitower GPU upgrade
are all addin slots now empty? or will be just before the swap?
this is a pC not built to ATX spec, standard tall cases, are that. (ibm/intel/micros spec)
SFF? must be mini, sure.
the pc VIDEO cars there are 6 sold for it at HP (guessing true model below, QUxxxxx
http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?type=PROD&SearchText=QU943US
if you read the service manual on this exact PC. 8200 is not the full partnumber, the service tag shows what you own.
the card above, is full size seen at that link above
http://partsurfer.hp.com/ShowPhoto.aspx?partnumber=641462-001
so now just the PCI-E electric spec matters and if the card you buy has driver for you OS ?
its a long board, but as we all know, many high end GPU cards are thick long and wide. and hit things
the mobo is listed there as.
System board (motherboard) - For Convertible Minitower PC`s (Handel)
but again, i had to GUESS your model number 8200 tells me near zero. in fact.
use the parts surfer your self and see what boards were sold new, up to 6
then look at the photos of them,,, a big clue there.
1: must fit
2: must be PCI-e spec.
3: must work ok with your windows, and its matching driver,
that means if running XP its fails.
we can not see in side your case (photos work here)
nor see if the CPU fan was upgrade, as many are,
here is the 8200 mini mobo
we can buy upgraded Vid cards all day, some fit others not....
you'd have to measure the spaces here, then shop say at newegg.com then read the full spec
some even do it right, showing tall, depth 2 ways, and length. some dont. HP does not do that.
HP assume you buy there boards. as see above.
dang first photo i find is mirror imaged, oops
below is HP actual. per manual.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02741904
so DOWN is left, and the 2 slot 750 will have its fan to the left away from the CPU>
seems most will fit. but there is a huge drive cage behind the first 2 top spots. how deep those PCI slot are to cage.?
not spec'd page 88
