Possible candidates:

Results for "Pavilion 6685" (5)

For example,

There are no Windows 10 Updates for this model.

Software and drivers for HP Pavilion a6685es Desktop PC

HP Support Assistant is not able to find what does not exist.

The program is perhaps not smart enough to know the data simply doesn't exist.

The result:  HPSA hangs and spins and doesn't find a decent "break" (error code and exit).

So, stop looking for Updates that don't exist.

The sign-in wants you to sign into the HP Support Assistant using your HP Account.

Meh.

You probably don't even need to use the HPSA for this machine.
