Greetings. I own a Pavilion 690-067c which I bought new and has been running fine for this old Marine disable vet. At last, like me parts are starting to fail. So I've maxed out the memory. (No issues), No the hard has failed. I upgraded to a WD Blue. (Yes I know but I live on my SS and VA). 2tb which according to both Best Buy and WD is compatible with my system. ISSUE: HD installed but getting a F3F error (Check Power and data connections).
MY ERROR: Forgot to take picture before hand.
QUESTION: Where can this old man find a wiring diagram so I can properly wire this 544 Hemi roaster of mine.
Thanks Gang Semper Fi

Would be nice to know what wattage of a power supply you have here in case there is a power supply problem.
My local friend's 7th Gen Core i7 or 8th Gen Core i7 based HP system had a power supply die on him.
I think he said that he was using a 180w or 250w power supply.
Try putting you harddrive in a different computer to see if it works correctly in that other pc.
Sometime power supply problems might manifest as a per component problem.

Hey Onethrifymam, thanks for the response. The PS for the HP 690-067c was 330. And since I have access to no other Desktops. (I live in a Assisted Living Facility) This HD is brand new, so I'm praying its good. At this point, im looking for a wiring diagram since I screwed up a forgot to take a picture before hand.
Thanks

There is 2 other things that you may want to check.
Here is the general support page for your Pavilion 690-0067c gaming pc:

Here is the support link for your motherboard ( HP Sunflower):

If nothing else, maybe the following is the issue:
- the black 8-pin power cable meant for sata devices is not fully seated or is corroded.
- the insulation on the sata power cables has been stripped, causing it to ground out to the frame.
[Some parts of the drive bay caddy are sharp and may cut the protective insulation on the thin power cable.] - One of the cables has had a non-visible, internal break.
