Hi
I ran HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI. Details [Hard Drive 1]:
Smart Check: Passed
Long DST: Failed
Failure ID: 0LG55D-000837-X87T1A-618P03
Please could someone tell me what the failure is and how I rectify it?
Many thanks

Hi @23-B030ea,
Welcome back to the HP Support Forums! I understand that your hard drive cam up with an error when you ran the UEFI tests. I am happy to give you a hand with this.
I checked the Failure ID you posted and it gave me the SMART Drive error code of 305. Now if your hard drive is still working for you, I would highly recommend that you make a backup of any and all data that is important to you as soon as possible. A SMART drive test is generally a predictor of drive failure. It could happen today or in several months, but rather than risk losing everything it is best to take precautions.
Also see this document: HP Notebook PCs - Hard Drive Failure Errors: Imminent Failure, Smart, BIOHD, HD535, etc
Once your data is safely backed up, you should probably look at a hard drive replacement.
Please let me know whether that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.

Hi @23-B030ea!
Usually the 24 character error codes are indicators of a dying hard disk, so I agree with @Malygris1 that it will be best to make a backup of your most important data as soon as possible and after that look for a replacement drive.
If the product is still in warranty you can contact the support, but in case you're out of warranty and would like a guide on replacing the hard drive yourself - please let me know.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

Machine is out of warranty (it's just over 3 years old), so a guide on where to get the right replacement drive would be great!
[My Dad is a techie, so I can get him to physically replace it for me!]

Well, IMO the best choice depends more or less on what are you planning to use the drive for.
For instance, if you're looking for a primary drive you can check WD Black or WD Blue. The first one is a performance oriented hard drive that has firmware features that will basically give you faster loading times like a dual-core build-in processor for instance.

WD Blue on the other hand is designed for everyday usage and will be fully capable to run most games. It's combined with SSD in a lot of cases and used as a secondary hard disk for apps and games, so it will do a good job if you decide to go with it.
