My pc has a Ryzen7 1700 cpu, before bying a new cpu that supports win 11 how do i figure out if my pc is hardware locked to this cpu or i can just swap it out ?

Your PC's motherboard does not support upgrading to any W11 supported AMD processor.

- TDP: up to 95 W
- Socket type: AM4
- Motherboard supports the following processor upgrades:ProcessorTDPAMD Ryzen7-1800X (Summit Ridge) 3.6 GHz, 8 cores/16 threads95 WAMD Ryzen7-1700 (Summit Ridge) 3.0 GHz, 8 cores/16 threads65 WAMD Ryzen5-1600 (Summit Ridge) 3.2 GHz, 6 cores/12 threads65 WAMD Ryzen5-1400 (Summit Ridge) 3.2 GHz, 4 cores/8 threads65 W
If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2/22H3.
You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
