OMEN 25L Desktop - GT12-0020
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi i have recently upgraded from 8gb to 32gb of corsair vengeance RGB - DDR4 -16GB 2x8 GB - DIMM 288-pin.

Everything works fine, my pc booted up fine and all. But i look into task manager and find out that the ram speed is running at 2133mhz when the new ram that  i have installed says 3200mhz. So then i go into Bios and enable XMP profile 1 and It boots up at 2666mhz and everything is fine until i play my games and 15 minutes in my games keep crashing and sometimes my pc crashes as well over and over. So im just wondering if i can get help and run a better ram speed than 2133mhz

thanks.

@tyler068,

As a matter of fact, yes it will, as this Customer made clear for the 2666 MHz RAM:

Same principle applies for 3200 MHz RAM for your PC.

@tyler068,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

Yea, your experience is shared by many HP OMEN 25L Desktop GT12-0xxx Users, such as this UserBenchmark example:

Reason being that HP gaming desktops are rather finnicky when it comes to RAM -specifically to RAM speed and performance.

Here are some actual User RAM benchmark data you may find interesting:

@tyler068,

What this means, in my opinion, and if you can, is to return your new RAM and get your money back and choose any of the RAM I referenced. I'm not sure if upgrading/updating your BIOS (if that is what you mean) is going to resolve your RAM issue.
