@blooozer,

When it comes to optimizing your (boot) drive speed by going through hundreds of HP Compaq 6200 Pro SFF User rigs, there are three SSDs which performed best by far in the HP Compaq 6200 Pro SFF desktops:

Crucial MX500
Samsung 850 Evo
Samsung 860 Evo

@blooozer,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

It will not work because you need a PCIe x4 slot to make an M.2 NVMe SSD work.  And indeed, there are no HP Compaq 6200 Pro SFF Users with any M.2 NVMe SSDs found anywhere: UserBenchmark: HP Compaq 6200 Pro SFF PC Compatible Components.

Hope this was helpful.

As @NonSequitur777 write, it will not work.  Even if you would fit it in the bios will not recognized it as a bootable device.

Best is use SSD boot drive such as WD Blue

If you do not have Wi-Fi or Bluetooth it can easily be added.

I recommend any 5G PCIe WiFi card with bluetooth 5.1 or later and have used "EDUP" on several systems including HP Pro3400 and HP 6000

I got mine at Walmart on-line but here is an amazon link for several
